Yes. Creating an account, browsing Pros, posting jobs and messaging Pros are all free. You only pay a $50 AUD deposit when you confirm a booking, and that deposit is held in escrow until the job is complete.

How does the $50 deposit work?

When you confirm a booking with a Pro, Knockr holds a $50 AUD deposit in escrow. It is fully refundable if the booking is cancelled, and is released to the Pro only after you mark the job as complete in the app.

What payment methods can I use?

Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) processed via Stripe. We do not store your card details — they go directly to Stripe's PCI-compliant systems. Bank transfer is available for invoices over $500 AUD.

Can I get a refund if the booking doesn't go ahead?

Yes. If a booking is cancelled before the work begins, your deposit is refunded in full to the original payment method, usually within 3–5 business days. If a dispute arises, contact support@knockr.com.au and we will mediate in line with Australian Consumer Law.

Are the rates I see on a Pro's profile the final price?

Pros set their own rates and those are visible on their profile before you commit to anything. For standard jobs, what you see is what you pay. For complex jobs, the Pro may discuss scope with you before confirming. No hidden fees added after the fact.

How does Knockr vet its Pros?

Every Pro completes identity verification with a government-issued photo ID before they can accept bookings. Pros who upload current trade or industry licence documents are awarded a Licence Verified badge. Reviews are tied to completed bookings only — no anonymous reviews are accepted.

Are Knockr Pros insured?

Knockr verifies identity and licence documents for every Pro. We strongly recommend asking your Pro about their insurance coverage before the job begins.

Is Knockr safe for women booking in-home services?

Yes — safety is a core Knockr principle. Every Pro is identity-verified, all bookings and communication run through the platform (giving us an audit trail), and you can read verified reviews from previous customers before booking. You can also share a booking with a trusted contact via the share button in the app.

What if I'm unhappy with the work?

Do not release the deposit until you are satisfied. Raise the issue with your Pro through the in-app chat first. If you cannot resolve it together, contact support@knockr.com.au with your job reference and we will help mediate.

Can I report a Pro or a customer?

Yes. Every profile has a Report button, and you can also email support@knockr.com.au. We investigate every report within one business day and may suspend accounts pending review.

How quickly can I get a Pro to my door?

When a Pro has Available Now toggled on within 15 km of your location, you can typically have someone confirmed within 15–30 minutes. For scheduled bookings, most jobs are filled within a few hours of being posted.

Can I book in advance?

Yes. When you post a request you can specify the date and time window. Pros who are free at that time will respond with their availability and rate.

How do I join Knockr as a Pro?

Create a free account, choose 'Pro', then complete your profile — services, suburb, service radius, and a short bio. Upload your trade or industry licence (if applicable) to earn the Licence Verified badge. Your profile is reviewed within one business day.

How much does a Knockr subscription cost?

Two plans: $49 AUD per month or $399 AUD per year (saves around $189). Your first 3 completed bookings are free. No credit card required. After that, choose monthly or annual. Cancel anytime from your account settings.

Does Knockr take a commission from my earnings?

No. Knockr charges a flat subscription, not a percentage. Every dollar a customer pays you — beyond the $50 deposit which is yours once the job is complete — is yours to keep.

How do I get paid?

When a customer confirms your booking they pay the $50 deposit into escrow. The remainder is paid directly to you on site (cash, bank transfer or card) or via a Knockr invoice. The escrowed deposit is released to your linked bank account within 2 business days of the customer marking the job complete.

Can I pause or cancel my subscription?

Yes — cancel anytime from your account settings. You keep access to the platform until the end of your current billing period.

How does Knockr handle my personal information?

Your data is stored on Australian-region servers and handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. We never sell your data to third parties. Full details are in our Privacy Policy at /privacy.

How does the referral programme work?

Share your unique referral link from the Promotions page. When a friend signs up and completes their first booking, you receive $25 AUD in account credit that automatically applies to your next deposit. There is no cap on how many friends you can refer.

Use the 'Forgot password' link on the login page. We will send a reset link to the email on file. Reset links expire after 30 minutes for security.
